Looking for a great way to spend your Friday afternoon? Enjoy the 3rd Annual Blueberry Festival in Warrensburgh at the Riverfront Farmers’ Market this Friday, July 22 from 3-6 p.m.


WHAT CAN YOU FIND

The Market will feature local vendors along with early and late varieties of freshly picked local berries, preserves, cheeses, baked goods, and distilled beverages enhanced with blueberries.

The Warren County Master Gardeners and local experts in the field of blueberry cultivation will be on hand with information and advice for those who wish to grow their own.

The festival includes food and beverage sampling along with recipes using berries from appetizers to desserts, and live music from Singer Songwriter Peter Burrall.

CAN’T MAKE IT THIS FRIDAY?

While you might miss out on the blueberries-filled goodies. The Riverfront Farmer’s Market is held every Friday afternoon. From Memorial Day weekend until the end of October from 3-6 pm.

At the Warrensburgh Riverfront Farmer’s Market, you can find locally grown, raised, and prepared products. Discover produce, plants, cut flowers, dairy, poultry, meats, maple syrup, honey, wine, preserves, baked goods, and refreshments.

Come out and support your local community, and buy some blueberries for your canning, pie-making, and recipe endeavors. You can also purchase some fresh produce from your local farmers. And get to know your neighbors in a different part of the Adirondacks this summer.

There will be a self-guided tour that will feature both public and private gardens in the Town of Warrensburgh and surrounding areas.  Brief histories of the gardens will be provided to enhance the experience of the tour.

Activities and walks will be presented throughout the day. Shop leisurely and talk with the artisans who will be set up around the barn where they will be offering hands-on activities, mushroom propagation, and demonstrations for all.

Take one or participate in all of the walks which will include the Letterboxing Trail provided by Warren County’s Planning Department. There will also be a self-guided walk following clues to a campfire and separate informational walks focused on wild plants and mushrooms.

Edward Braley of E & S Wild Food Larder will be leading the Mushroom Walks at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30pm. They will also be selling and offering a variety of mushrooms, handcrafted salts, seasonings, extracts, and tinctures.
